From boudoir to fashion and family portraits, a preview of new images to come

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any images here. With the Haiti fundraising and the amount of planning to organize the sessions and weddings for the next several months, there has been little time to share. An apology is in order. Sorry =(

It comes with great pleasure that you will soon see some of the work that has been going on lately. It has been a busy couple of months. There has been some explorations with new equipment, different scenarios and artistic treatment. All of which, I have my friends to thank for being wonderful people who let me photograph them. You are my clients, my partners and also my inspiration.

Felise + Ben: 11.12.2009 Engagement Shoot

“Bring your rain boots and bring an umbrella” I thought. Fortunately our luck brought us a nice Seattle overcast that scared away most of the tourists. Felise, Ben and I paid a visit to one of the more colorful historical spots in the city: the Gum Wall. We made our way to the Gum Wall to later discover two other wedding parties getting their photos taken as well. Who knew it was so popular?! In any case, Felise and Ben had something no other group had.. bubble gum! The ultimate prop for our occasion.

Once we literally wrapped up at the gum wall, we walked through Pike Place market and over to Olympic Sculpture Park for a fun last stop. Thank you Felise and Ben for being such amazing people. I don’t think I could have asked for a better “wave!”

Oh and if you guys haven’t checked it out yet, visit my Facebook page! There’s a lot of stuff coming through so stay in touch!

Photo booths + Wedding = Absolute WIN!

Last night was Michelle and Andrew’s big day! Congratulations to the new couple! We set up the photo booth at the wonderful Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Seattle. The second we set up, I swear that we had a 20 person line already formed. It was as if no one cared to eat, and just wanted to take photos (which I’m completely down to support)! The best part about it was seeing some familiar faces. Helping out at this wedding was made possible because of the booth we ran at Amy and Jason’s wedding in July. Friends, aunties and cousins were there to bring back the awesome from last time. I hope I run into you guys again, so you know, let others know about the photo booth ;P

Again, a special thanks to Amy and Jason for letting me run the photo booth at their wedding and introducing me to such a great group of people. The energy and excitement makes my job so easy. Of course a HUGE THANK YOU to Michelle and Andrew for the opportunity to be a part of their beautiful beginnings.

If you like what you see, become a fan on Facebook and stay in touch! Enjoy the photos!

Cori (Mostly) & Matt’s Maternity Session

Laughter. Smiles. Funny faces. Oh, and not to mention monkeys! (I’ll save everyone from any banana jokes, promise!) Cori and Matt invited me to take photos with only weeks counting down. We quickly got settled in and made our rounds in a few of the rooms including the nursery, bedroom and what I like to classify as Matt’s man cave. By the time we wrapped up all the indoor photos, we only had about 30 minutes left before sunset! So we made haste over the Alki and parked at the nearest spot by the beach.

The protocol was simple, “walk that way and just enjoy the sunset.” Playing paparazzi, the candid moments just fell into place. Actually, I think they were posing, but they were so natural at it, you couldn’t even tell! The two were even open to walking into the water with me. Mind you, Seattle water isn’t the warmest of waters to dip your toe into. All said and done, I think we beat the clock and made the best of our time together. Enjoy!

Diana + Chandler’s Seattle Wedding

It comes with great joy to share a few photos from Diana and Chandler’s beautiful wedding on July 12th, 2009. This was a collaboration with friends: Billy Shih, John Taing and Linda Pham. Together as BJLK (guess who the K is…), we worked together to capture Diana and Chandler’s special occasion. The wedding took place at the wonderful Edgewater off of pier #67. On a side note, this is the same venue where my sister got married too, so I have another reason to love this place!

One of the best things about this wedding was how friends and family participated in the entire process. From planning, getting ready and providing the beautiful floral and gift arrangements, the final result was an event crafted out of love for these two. We all got to put a little bit of ourselves into these two and we’re all so happy to see them together.

Without further delay, I present snippets from Diana and Chandler’s wedding!

Diana + Chandler’s Engagement Shoot at Olympic Sculpture Park

In the spirit of Diana and Chandler’s wedding coming up this Sunday, I wanted to share a few of their photos from an engagement session at the Olympic Sculpture Park. I’ve known these two since high school and it’s been an incredible 8+ years knowing them and seeing them grow together. Chandler for a large part of the time had been away serving for our country in Iraq, but their love continues to blossom even more now that he has returned.

My favorite is the one with the ampersand. Turns out they used it for the save the date cards! Anyways, hope you enjoy these and check back soon when I post up the photos from their wedding day!
