Seattle summers will always be a source of inspiration

While crossing I-90, I knew instantly that this was a scene that was meant to be remembered. It might be because of the colors, the warmth, the way the clouds formed, or just all the above. Anyways, click on the photo to see the 2560px wide version. =)

Happy 4th of July!

Best wishes to everyone out there. I hope you had a weekend filled with good times that will become better memories. Special thanks to all the Seattle businesses and community members who helped keep our tradition alive. The fireworks show at Gasworks Park was absolutely amazing. There’s no way any photograph right now could capture the experience from last night. The motion, the depth, the sounds and the colors were remarkable!

Sara + Tony Fabian 06.26.2010 teaser

Here we go again! Another teaser. This time it’s with Sara and Tony Fabian. Congratulations you two! There was so much to love about this wedding from the amazing family members, star wars / star trek surprises and the photo booth that had literally 20 people lined up waving light sabers at each other. Special thanks also to John Taing for second shooting. We caught up to the getaway car! Also a special thanks goes out to Billy and Maxine for running a successful photo booth. Now to figure out where to put the life sized cut out of Darth.

Jennifer + Byung Kim 06.19.2010 teaser

The first wedding of the season and it started off amazingly. Jennifer and Byung not only represent a beautiful couple in love, but also generous souls who donated $1,000 towards my friend, Billy’s, Haiti fundraiser. Their contributions helped raised over $16,000 for those impacted in the tragic event. It was an absolute pleasure and honor to photograph these two as we made our way through Bellevue Park to the Bellevue Club Hotel. The speeches you guys gave still get me.

Peyton turns one!

Buttery frosting, lots of laughing and a happy family can only mean one thing, Peyton turns one! Thank you Kimmie and Gloria for inviting me to such a happy event. =)

Fun bokeh shapes

Two years ago, before any of this “business” stuff started, my friends and I gathered to take photos of random things. You name it, flowers, clouds, windows, puddles and kittens. On one of those ocassions, Linda showed us how we could have fun with changing the shape of bokeh. Bokeh is a Japanese term that describes the “blurred background” effect you commonly find in SLR cameras. Using a modified hood, you can shape points of light to whatever you want! Flash forward to this past weekend, we all got together to try it out ourselves as part of a reunion.

Well, sort of.

You see, it rained once sunset hit Gasworks, which caused us to retreat to Shultzy’s for a little happy hour. BUT! I did manage to sneak a couple shots for you just because I liked my cut out of….

…butterflies!
